Northern Outdoors – Your Full Service Snowmobile Resort

Breaking out ITS 87 after 30 inches of snow today!Welcome to our new Maine Snowmobile blog! It’s a great day to kick off this blog about snowmobiling in Maine with up-to-date news and trail conditions from our snowmobile resort located on ITS 87. All within easy reach of the Jackman, Greenville, Bingham and Eustis trail systems.

The storm over the weekend dumped a solid 24 inches of snow across the region. Jim and Greg took both Tucker Terra groomers and spent yesterday “breaking trail”. There was so much snow they couldn’t take the drags with them. Today, they are going out again to groom the entire Forks Area Snowmobile Trail System in preparation for the December 26th Opening Day of Northern Outdoors’ Maine snowmobile season.

If you’ve never been to Northern Outdoors, we’re a full-service snowmobile resort, featuring a variety of trailside accommodations, a comfortable main lodge with a restaurant serving breakfast, and lunch & dinner daily. And of course our very own Kennebec River Pub and Brewery. We offer snowmobile rentals and professionally guided tours. Here’s a link to a couple of recent articles by American Snowmobiler and SuperTrax International who visited us last winter, to give you a brief snapshot of riding in the western mountains of Maine.

Early booking rates are available thru January 2009. You can see more information at www.NorthernOutdoors.com or download the 2008/2009 Snowmobile brochure.
