High Adventure Raft Option : Sport Raft Adventures
Want some extra thrills added to your day rafting on the Kennebec? Try one of our Diablo Sport rafts. Specially designed for a livelier ride, these rafts are shorter, narrower, and have a smaller tube diameter that puts you up close and personal with the river. Note: Diablos are NOT available for any Turbine Test Releases, believe us, you want the big rafts for that day!!- Recommended for experienced paddlers only, minimum age of 15 years old.
- Available May, June, September, and October. Weekdays only in July & August.
- Add $20 to standard price. Minimum 4 people required for trip departure.

What's the Difference Between the Upper and Lower Sections of the Kennebec River?
- Upper Gorge section: ages 10 and up (4.5 miles)
- Lower Kennebec section: ages 8 and up (7.5 miles)
Lower Kennebec Float Trip
This is a fantastic afternoon trip for younger families and those seeking a relaxing experience in gorgeous Maine wilderness.
This self-guided trip starts at take-out of the main Kennebec River rafting trip, below all the major rapids of the Upper and Lower sections. This part of the river, below The Forks, meanders at a much slower pace, ideal for those who want to spend an afternoon drifting carefree with their friends or splashing around with the family. You can rent easy-to-paddle inflatable kayaks and enjoy the river at your own pace. - No experience necessary
- Gentle Class I-II float for 5 miles
- Put-in at The Forks, take-out across from Northern Outdoors' Forks Resort Center
- Minimum Age: 8 years
- Great trip for elementary school age kids through active seniors
- Price: $29 per inflatable kayak, holds 1 or 2 people
