The Forks Area Snowmobile Trail Update – Monday, December 19th, 2016

We have about 10” of snow on the ground. We will be packing trails this week with the groomers on Tuesday and Wednesday, and finishing up signage. Expect early season conditions as things freeze up, with woods trails being rough. Sections of the trail on unplowed roads should have good riding.

The following sections of the trail are on plowed roads, as crews are still finishing up fall logging operations:

  • 2 mile section of ITS 86 going toward Greenville, on north and south side of Brochu Road.
  • 3 mile section of ITS 87 and the Bald Mtn. Trail around Baker Pond.
  • 2 mile section of ITS 87 heading south toward Bingham, on the Whit Road.
It looks as if temps. will stay cold through the next couple of weeks, with a couple of opportunities for snow in the forecast.
Northern Outdoors lodge will open for the season on December 29th.
