The Forks Area Snowmobile Trails Conditions Report 12/25/17
The Christmas Day storm dropped 10 inches of fresh snow here in The Forks, Maine giving us about 18 inches of snow on the ground… enough to start packing the trails. Groomers will be going out Wed, Thurs, Friday. We will pack all of the following trails . . . . ITS 87, Pleasant Pond Trail, Caratunk Spur, Bald Mountain Trail, and ITS 86 to the Shirley Road only. ITS 86 heading east toward Greenville is not open past the Shirley Road. There is an active logging operation which the landowner does not want sleds going through. The logging is planned to be finished within a couple weeks.
For day riders, there is a FREE PARK & RIDE LOT at Northern Outdoors on Route 201. The lot is large, well plowed and has plenty of room for trailers. Groomed access to all trails. The lot is marked with a large sign on Route 201. Trail maps, 91 octane gas, food are available at Northern Outdoors.
