The Forks, Maine – Snowmobile Trail Conditions Report

We were on a roll and then the warm temps came through over the weekend.  This, combined with the fairly heavy New Years Holiday traffic, pretty much destroyed what we had.  With the return of cold temperatures, there’s a lot of ice, rocks and dirt over much of The Forks Trail System.  Only decent riding is on ITS 86 on the Brochu Road heading toward Greenville. Plenty of snow, with no bare spots. Also some pretty good off trail riding in that area.

Everywhere else on our trail system is in very poor shape with ice everywhere and bare patches in many places.  Looks like a storm may be brewing up along the mid-Atlantic coast and heading up this way on Friday. Keep your fingers crossed.
