Northern Outdoors is Pleased to Sponsor the Hugs from Haley Second Annual Bone Marrow Registry Drive
Meet 7 Year Old Hayley Desjardins
Hayley is the daughter of longtime Northern Outdoors employee Mike Desjardins. Young Hayley has Aplastic Anemia, a rare bone marrow disease. Last year we held our first Bone Marrow Registry Drive with a Concert and Silent Auction to help Haley and her family. Haley wants to hold the Registry again this year to help her friends.
Hayley has required regular blood and platelet transfusions, and fortunately she has responded well to treatment and is now considered to be in remission.
Results from 2008 Registry Drive:
- Over 300 donors registered
- One of those donors was a match for someone else needing a transplant!! (This is incredible!)
Let's do it again in 2009 for Haley and friends!

Details: Bone Marrow Donor Registry Drive
- The Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort grounds and amenities will be available for use all day to Bone Marrow Drive participants. These include the swimming pool, main lodge, game room, hot tub, volleyball area, etc.
- The bone marrow drive registry will start at 4 p.m. and go until 8:00pm
