Polaris Snowmobile Rentals: For Beginners to Experts
Rent your Polaris snowmobile and snowmobiling gear at The Forks Adventure Resort – reserve in advance and pick up conveniently at our main lodge. Rent a new model snowmobile from experts in the rental game, our partners, 201 Powersports. Their professional staff is eager to show you everything you need to know to understand your machine and travel on our scenic trails. If you’re new to snowmobiling, that’s ok! No experience necessary and all the required gear is provided. We provide safety and operating instruction for first-timers, and with the provided Forks area trail map and well signed trails, you’ll discover how easy it is to explore the beauty of The Forks area. Quick Info for Renting
Rentals begin January 1st, weather permitting.
All rates listed are per snowmobile.
Passenger seat kit can be added to convert to a two-seater.
Snowmobile rentals include a helmet with heated shield, all fluids and a trail map. Snowmobiles come filled with gas — tank must be re-filled upon return unless renting multiple days.
Snowmobiling rental clothing is available: Complete Riding Package (Jacket, Pants, Boots, Gloves) $30, OR $10 per item of clothing needed. Priced per day.
Maximum weight limit for double snowmobile is 500 lbs.
All renters must be 21 years old and present a valid driver’s license. Passengers must be at least 8 years old. If you have a passenger under 18 years old, you must be 25 to operate.

Important Snowmobile Rental Information and Policies
An Understanding – Release of Liability
As with most adventure activities, there are inherent risks involved. Each snowmobile rental participant or self-guided tour participant must acknowledge this by reading and signing a liability release form prior to departure.
Driver & Passenger Requirements
Drivers must be at least 21 years old and present a valid driver’s license. All of our one person sleds (1 up) are for single riders only. Passengers are only allowed on our two person sleds (2 up). Minimum age of passenger is 8 years old. If driver has a passenger under 18 years old, the driver must be 25 years old.
Snowmobile Rental Damage Deposit Details
On the day of the rental, renters will be required to purchase a damage waiver program. Assuming no damages at the end of your rental, your chosen security deposit will be voided. If there are damages associated with the operation of the rental, the credit card will be charged in full for all damages and retrieval costs that are incurred.
- FREE/day: Standard protection = $1000 security deposit for damages to the vehicle.
- $25/day: Premium protection = $500 security deposit for damages to the vehicle.
Don’t Be Stupid ~ Ride Sober!
Maine has a very strict OUI law for snowmobile operators. Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or demonstrating unruly behavior, will be denied services without refund.
Cancellation Policy
Full refunds are provided for cancellations made up to 2 weeks prior to reservation, minus the 5% booking fee. Cancellations made inside 2 weeks to arrival forfeit 50% of the full rental fee, and any cancellations made within 48 hours to arrival are non-refundable.
Rebooking: If you need to reschedule your rental within the same season (if availability exists), there will be a $25 rebooking fee per machine. If it cannot be rescheduled within the same season, it is considered a cancellation.
