No matter your experience level, Northern Outdoors has a guided bass fishing trip for you. These hard-fighting fish are just waiting for you to catch them. We access hard-to-reach, remote and uncrowded stretches of water using rafts, drift boats and jet-drive bass boats. Beginners and those on a tight schedule will enjoy our half-day float trips for smallmouth bass and our full-day bass fishing trips will impress even the most experienced bass anglers.
Each trip includes a Registered Maine Fishing Guide, all the necessary spin fishing equipment, and you can purchase your Maine fishing license right from our main lodge! Although these are designed as spin fishing trips, you can request fly fishing. Call us at 800-765-7238 to book your guided bass fishing trip. Discover the secret spots only the expert local guides know for rugged brook trout, acrobatic landlocked salmon, and sneaky smallmouth bass.
We supply transportation to and from the lodge to the river, snacks and water and a hearty riverside lunch on full day trips. All our trips are catch and release so bring your camera! You’ll also want to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and rain gear (rain jackets and pants are recommended).
If you prefer to use your own gear, we recommend:
Medium weight spinning rods and 6 – 10lb test line
3 – 6 weight fly rods with floating, sink tip and full sinking lines
Chest waders with waist belt. (Waders are not necessary but allow us options during the day)
Felt or stealth rubber boots. (No cleated boots in the boat please)
Enjoy expert assistance and guidance searching out the best fishing spots along Maine’s beautiful Kennebec River. We float the gentle lower, lower section of the river, from The Forks downstream to Caratunk. Great for kids and adults alike!
The remote lakes and rivers we fish provide plenty of action for both the beginner and experienced angler. Our comfortable and stable jet-drive bass boat is just right for getting us up shallow rivers and around our stump-filled lakes.
I cannot say enough about what a fabulous trip I experienced at Northern Outdoors, everything from the location, hosts, the rafting and rafting guides, accommodations, great food, great beer, Suzie and the Smelts, kayaking, fishing and so much more…
