Northern Outdoors relentlessly offers a fabulous whitewater rafting experience. From the registration process to the day of rafting trip, I can't recommend Northern Outddors enough. This is my... eighth time traveling down the Penobscot with them and it simply gets better each year! They are sublime! Thanks for making it our best weekend every year!read more

Great time as always. My husband and I come to raft every year. This year we had 3 generations! Rafting, fishing and floating…. Something for every age and comfort level. Justin’s always our rafting... guide and never disappoints! Food is delish, staff amazing. Hoping to come back in the fall.read more

Wow! We stayed in a Cozy Cabin for two nights as a couple, no kids. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed including tv with plenty of channels. We went rafting on the... Kennebec river and Aleda was our guide. She was amazing and we had so much fun! I knew we were going to have a great getaway but this exceeded my expectations. We are definitely returning next year. All the staff is so friendly and enthusiastic from the waitstaff to the rafting guides. We commented on how much it looks like everyone there really enjoys their job. Thank you!read more

This place is wonderful. 😀The service from the time of booking, the endless questions we had, when the fridge did not work, they brought us a mini fridge within minutes...great staff and... overall service.We had an amazing trip!!!My only recommendations would be to 1) add AC to the cabins. and 2) add a 2nd bathroom. Navigating that many people with one bathroom is no easy feat. HAHA!read more

Grace (guide) and Carter (guide that tagged along) are so amazing!! They made the whole group feel really comfortable out on the water and were super chatty. The white water rafting was a lot of fun.

Great place. I was on a 4x4 excursion with friends and family and found this wonderful place on the ride. Super friendly staff, accommodating and beautiful. Would definitely recommend a visit!

I went on a white water rafting trip with Northern Outdoors / Magic falls.Not sure if this is the correct listing, but hopefully the owners of the raft trip might find this review, and if there’s a... deed is the white water rafting company, then I suppose the review will stay.Went white water rafting in 2022 with my fiancé. I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time.I am a paraplegic. This was my first time on the river since getting injured.I have been white water rafting thing many times I’ve been mean for many years. All of them are very good experiences, but in this particular case, I believe the staff went well above and beyond the call of duty I did everything they could to make sure that the trip was a success.(sorry for the late review, but a very busy couple of years.)A raft guide was Connor. We stayed in the river runner cabin.Though I mostly use a wheelchair, I was able to get in and out of the cabin with my leg braces. Put them on in the main lodge.All of the staff was very friendly and very helpful. I cannot say how grateful I am to all of the staff, from the wait staff in the restaurant/ pub, everyone was very helpful and very friendly.I recall that Connor also mentioned that he was a ski instructor I believe at Sugarloaf Mountain. I also think he mentioned he was a student at UNH. I also recall that he mentioned that he may have worked with adaptive skiers.The night before our trip, we met with a female who I believe was the head of the raft guides. I can’t remember her name, but we talked about getting to the raft, getting in and out of the raft, and then at some point, we met Connor who was going to be our guide the next day.On the morning of the raft trip, we got in the van and went down to the place where the dam is. There’s a huge staircase with hundreds of stairs, so what I did was get out of my wheelchair and kind of scooted down on the rocks and eventually made it down to the loading place. Where you get onto the raft and go into the river.(my fiancé unfortunately slipped on the rocks, but she was OK!)For the first part of the trip, we kept the wheelchair out of the raft. About halfway through, we had lunch on the river, the staff brought my wheelchair and I was able to get on sure and enjoy an awesome steak lunch that was prepared on site by the staff.After that, my wheelchair remained in the raft, which was pretty cool and I think I might’ve been the first wheelchair user to do so.After the actual raft trip, was able to put the wheelchair in the actual river and roll back to shore.That night, chilled in the hot tub for a bit, went swimming in the pool, had dinner with my fiancé, but interacted with many of the staff.What I really enjoy about this company is the very chill laid-back positive can-do attitude and initiative of all of the staff. Certainly Connor our guide, The female head raft guide ( I really am very sorry that I could not remember her name, but she was super upbeat and positive!)There’s a lot of extremely positive wonderful things that I would like to say about all of the staff who helped to make this possible.I hope to be able to go rafting again with Northern Outdoors / Magic falls. Certainly on the Kennebec again, and possibly the dead and the Penobscot if it is possible.I cannot express enough the performed gratitude and appreciation that we have for all of the staff who made our 2022 Kennebec Trip not only possible, but so welcoming and accommodating.Very grateful for all of the positive experiences We had, looking forward to doing another fart trip as my “bachelor party” and when this happens, I’ll make sure that I write another very good review, this time with all of the names intact!(hopefully many of the staff are still there from the 2022 trip.)Thank you all for helping to make such a wonderful and memorable trip.Michael R. Had a great time! Friendly staff and beautiful & convenient location.One drawback was the heavy ATV activity around our campsite late night and into early morning made it difficult to sleep.

This place was perfect from our arrival until we had to go on. We were greeted with friendly staff for all of our interactions. We ended up going white water rafting. Our guide Parker was very... informative and made us feel safe. It was an awesome adventure. The bartender Sam was very good as well. Our food was delicious and the price was reasonable. Our cottage was very nice. A queen bed that was very comfortable. We had our own porch and we could park right next to it. It was a short walk to the main lodge. There were many nature trails and activities to choose from. Kayaking, atv trips. Fishing. We may go back again someday. We definitely recommend this placeread more

What a great trip. I went on a rafting trip with my daughter and the guides and staff were excellent. The had two of the hottest days on record this week and worked well with it. I really wasn’t... expecting much for the location but the lodge was great, food being a chef was great as well as the beer selection was nice. Overall enjoyed our trip nice job entire crew of Northern Outdoors.read more

It's not worth the food price. Overpriced and poor customer service. I ordered the simplest plate on the menu, and still, they messed up.The server did not have the intent to fix the food, he said.... Never also came and expected a high tip.read more

I came here for a white water rafting experience. Overall 10/10. This place is perfect. They really know how to truly give you a memorable experience. They offer everything on site. Rooms, food,... brewery,.live music, outdoor entertainment.The staff is very friendly and the rafting guides were just awesome. I can't wait to come again. Highly recommend.read more

What an absolutely wonderful time ! From trail riding right out the back door to the service !!! 100%...Extremely welcoming and friendly ! Rates and prices very reasonable 👌 They have... everything ! Huge sitting room for cards ..games..etc Amazing food and a small bar area... Camping (tents..rv..cabins..houses...big/sm tents on slabs ) just everything ..Buses to take u on watersports..4x4 to rent ... If you have nothing but yourselves you WILL be accommodated 100%Can't say enough 😁We will be back ...read more
