Our snowmobile guided and self-guided tours have it all: spectacular scenery, wildlife, history, varied riding terrain with winding trails through the woods, and wide-open highway cruising. Appropriate riding gear is required when renting a snowmobile. Riding clothing, including suits, boots, and mitts are available for rent at Northern Outdoors. Hats that fit under helmets and warm socks are available for sale at our retail store.

Full-day tours include a customized tour plan based on your group members’ experience and include a stop for lunch. The cost of lunch is not included in the tour price.

The Forks & Kingfield Inn-to-Inn Package with the Historic Herbert Grand Hotel Northern Outdoors has teamed up with the historic Herbert Grand Hotel to deliver a three-night, two-day inn-to-inn snowmobile package. The tour rides from The Forks to the town of Kingfield through Maine’s beautiful lakes and mountains (see photos of the snowmobile tour,) and then back the next day. This self-guided package, aimed at experienced riders, includes one-night lodging at the Herbert bookended by two nights lodging in a cozy cabin at Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort with all its amenities. Snowmobile rentals and a Registered Maine Guide are available at additional cost for this tour.
