Turn left at the painted rock onto a dirt road — parts of this road contain large bumps and holes, so take your time and drive carefully. At the end of the dirt road (approx 1 mile) turn right onto the Golden Road. You will see a Northern Outdoors sign at this turnoff. You’re going in the right direction! The Golden Road is a privately owned logging road- go slow, take your time, and keep your eyes open for moose…and logging trucks! Continue on The Golden Road 4.2 miles. When the speed limit drops to 25 MPH on the Golden Road, take a right onto a dirt road just BEFORE Abol Bridge Campground and Store (if you go over the bridge you have gone a little too far). Once on this dirt road, take the first left into a large sand pit and park along the right side. Park and follow the trail and signs from the right corner of the pit to the Northern Outdoors Pavilion, where our rafting trip meets. To avoid running back to your car, bring everything you need for your day of rafting. You can bring your keys, wallet, and valuable and store them in small lockers available at the pavilion. To camp at Abol Bridge Campground check in at the store located directly after the dirt road to the Pavilion.
