New! Geocaching High Tech Treasure Hunts Are Fun For Everyone
These high tech treasure hunts have proven a big hit in the past couple of years. Find out why all ages love this new “sport” of go-your-own-pace adventures. Learn new skills in the morning, then if you're hooked take it a step further and apply your new found skills and search for hidden "caches" along the Old Canada Road National Scenic Byway in the afternoon. What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for GPS users. You get to hike in the woods and use the high tech features of the GPS unit to find small hidden "caches". These caches exist all over the world; the locations are shared via GPS coordinates on the internet. Our friends at the Center for Community GIS have a handy Geocaching 101 Primer that gives a good overview of this fun "sport". Read full primer now.
You can also find out a lot at the Official Global GPS Cache Hunt Site, geocaching.com.
