Self-Guided Snowmobile Rentals

Snowmobiles are easy to operate and fun to ride! Throttle to go, brake to stop. It's almost that simple. No experience necessary and all the required gear is provided. Our professional staff is eager to show you everything you need to know to travel on our user friendly trails. We provide safety and operating instruction for first-timers, as well as helpful hints on how to get the most from your adventure. With the local trail map we provide and well signed trails, you'll discover how easy it is to explore the beauty of The Forks area.

Northern Outdoors is a fully insured snowmobile rental operator, licensed by the State of Maine. We are one of New England's largest and most experienced rental operators. Our in-house snowmobile mechanic, Dan Davis, keeps every sled in our modern fleet in tip-top shape. Each late model snowmobile is equipped with the newest technology for your comfort, safety, and ease of use. We take great pride in maintaining the best running rental fleet in Maine!

Ride with a partner on a 2-up sled, or take complete control and go solo on a 1-up machine. Each and every one of our late model Ski-Doo GTX snowmobiles is equipped with electric start, electronic reverse, driver hand & foot warmers, heated passenger grips, and dual mirrors.

 

Ski-Doo GTX 550

A high performance 550cc Rotax engine powers this sled, which introduces the REV platform to trail touring. The REV design provides extra legroom for more comfort and less rider fatique. The SC-136 rear suspension and Motion Control front shocks enable nimble handling and take the rough spots out of any trail. Outstanding riding comfort and power are the trademarks of the GTX 550. Available in 1-up and 2-up configurations.

• Rates are per sled, valid for 2010 season.
• Rental fee includes sled with unlimited mileage, collision insurance ($1000 deductible), helmet, trail map.
• Gasoline and riding clothing are not included.
• Maximum weight limit for the GTX 550 is 400 lbs.
