Northern Outdoors’ “flagship” resort is located in The Forks, Maine– your spot for ATV trails and rentals, fishing trips, whitewater rafting the Kennebec and Dead Rivers, snowmobiling Maine’s scenic trails, and grabbing a craft beer at the Kennebec River Pub & Brewery. Northern Outdoors’ base for all of our class V Penobscot River whitewater rafting trips is at the Katahdin Adventure Base Camp, located at the Big Moose Inn outside of Millinocket, Maine and in the shadows of Maine’s highest peak, Mount Katahdin.

All river trips have the options of our 13′ Sport Rafts for a wilder ride. Seats 6 – ask for this option when you make your reservation, and book early! Diablo rafts are $15 more per person than price listed above. Trip prices do not include the river access fee of $13.50 per person.

Rafting Trip Pricing at Katahdin Adventure Basecamp – Penobscot River
Northern Outdoors’ Katahdin Adventure Base Camp is located at the Big Moose Inn, Cabins & Campground, situated between Millinocket and Ambajejus Lakes. This is your home for rafting the Penobscot River and exploring the Katahdin region. The Big Moose Inn and the Penobscot River are located 3 hours from the Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort.
