Northern Outdoors is a popular destination for all kinds of touring clubs traveling through Maine’s exceptional scenery–specialty cars, motorcycles, and trucks. The Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort is located right on the 78-mile Old Canada Road Scenic Byway that stretches from Solon on Maine’s coast to the Canadian border. We welcome two-wheeled and four-wheeled motorized enthusiasts to our Adventure Resort, complete with its own brewery (the Kennebec River Brewery, featured on the Maine Beer Trail), a full-service restaurant, giant outdoor hot tub, swimming pool, Maine vacation cabin rentals, camping, and more. We even have live entertainment on the weekend! Come explore some fantastic touring in New England’s northernmost wilderness state.
Maine has all kinds of gravel, unpaved backroads that are appealing to motorists looking to get farther off the paved roads. A network of logging roads links up Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort in The Forks, Maine with our Katahdin Adventure Base Camp outside of Millinocket, Maine farther north and east. These roads are ideal for dirt road touring and off-road enthusiasts if you really want to get into the North Woods. We can help you with route planning and know the best stops for lunch on the road and where the gas stations are (or aren’t, which is really important, too!).
Getting to Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort in The Forks is part of your motoring experience! Tracing the route of generations of travelers between Maine and Quebec, this segment of Route 201 is one of the most beautiful drives in the Northeast. Winding right alongside the Kennebec River, Wyman Lake, the Dead River and vast working forests, it is a spectacular drive revealing undeveloped ridges and islands framed by dramatic stands of white birch.
Whether you travel by car, motorcycle or RV, you’ll discover that getting here is almost as enjoyable as being here!
