Special Year
This year (my seventh with this outfitter) I returned to Northern Outdoors and had a very special year. I’ve always enjoyed hunting here, great stand locations, their food and beverages (brewery)are excellent. Add the camaraderie, hard working guides that are good people that know there business and Hunting in Maine doesn’t get any better.
Maine IFW Hunting Report Shows Strong November Deer Hunting Season To Date
Good things are happening up in the Moosehead region, where all the area tagging stations are showing an increase in numbers over the past few years. “Some tagging stations are up by as much as 20 percent,” said IFW wildlife biologist Doug Kane. “Kokadjo is up, and it has been like a desert up there the last few years.” Kane thinks that the region hasn’t rebounded all the way back for the harsh winters of ’08 and ’09, but “people are happy because they are seeing deer.”

The quality and care that goes into the brewing of Kennebec River Brewery’s beer is no local secret. We’re pretty pleased that some others have discovered our special brewery as well. Travel + Leisure Magazine recently featured us as one of America’s Coolest Breweries in their latest brewery roundup!
Wedding
Our daughter’s wedding was catered, managed and held at Northern Outdoors / Maine Lakeside Cabins. The location is beautiful, the food was wonderful. Many at the wedding reported that this was the best food they had at the wedding.

Up here in Maine, we are more than Leaf Peepers – oh yes indeed. We are Leaf Hunters – we take seriously the business of immersing ourselves in one of the most spectacular color shows of nature.
One of our best family vacations EVER!
We vacationed Friday to Monday and stayed in the Baxter lakeside house. What a beautiful location. The owners at the lodge were so friendly !!! We rented their kayaks for the day on Saturday which was so awesome! Sunday we white water rafted.
