Snowmobile Park and Ride at Northern Outdoors

Northern Outdoors Free Park and Ride Lot – Set to Open When The Forks Area Trails are Groomed!

For day riders, there is a FREE PARK & RIDE LOT at Northern Outdoors on Route 201. The lot is large, well plowed and has plenty of room for trailers. Groomed access to all trails. The lot is marked with a large sign on Route 201, about 1/4 mile south of Northern Outdoors. The parking lot connects directly to the Kennebec River Trail which winds five miles north along the river to The Forks. Alternatively, snowmobilers can ride the short distance to Northern Outdoors to access the ITS 87 spur connector trail behind the main lodge to Pleasant Pond and Moxie Mountain.

Trail maps, 91 octane ethanol-free gas, snowmobile rentals, and lodging are available at Northern Outdoors. Gas is cash only, and available 9am-5pm. Enjoy craft beer and hearty meals at Kennebec River Pub & Brewery, open daily from 7am to 9pm.

  1. Can there be more frequent trail updates and time lapse videos? A group of us are planning a stay and kind of rely on these updates to know if the trip is worth making.

    • Hi Tim! As with many snowmobile clubs, we typically get out one full report a week, with an occasional update if a weather event arrives. Our video report is every other week. We did get some snow on Saturday night and into Sunday, and the groomers were out again yesterday after a very busy weekend, so we do have an update to share- woo hoo! I just updated the 1/17/20 trail report, found here: https://northernoutdoors.com/snowmobile-trail-conditions-report-forks-maine-january2020/ … hope that helps!
