The Forks, Maine Fall Foliage Report

Fall is an amazing time of year in Maine – and whether you’re aiming to take a leaf peeping day trip for craft beer and lunch, or looking for an overnight adventure (yep, we’ve got cabins), we’re here to let you know exactly what the foliage is doing here in The Forks! So, every week starting in mid September until mid-October, our team will be flying high to get you a bird’s eye view of the changing colors in The Forks area for your Forks Area, Maine Fall Foliage Report. Generally, we see peak foliage sometime between the last week of September and first week of October. This is perfect timing for our Last Blast on the Dead River, or a fun fall ATV trip! Weekly Report, Week of October 6th, 2025:

It’s Week 5 of our Weekly Foliage Report for The Forks, Maine, and we are officially in peak foliage conditions according to the Maine State Foliage Report! Here’s a shot from last weekend on the Dead River–

Based on the state foliage map (see below), we are experiencing peak color change (70-100%) with moderate to high leaf drop. This weekend will be a great time to take a drive up Route 201 to the Kennebec River Brewery, and hop on the ATV trails — or on the Kennebec River for our LAST trips of the year!

When do you expect peak foliage in The Forks, Maine?

Each year, we expect to see peak foliage conditions around the first week of October. This year- it may come early! Thankfully, the colors don’t come and go TOO quick, and we usually still see some colors into the middle of October. If you’re looking to book a fall getaway, give us a call or book online!
