Anyway, this was supposed to be a focus stack, two images, one for the foreground rock and one for everything else… but I hate sitting in front of my computer plus I’m lazy, and because of this you’re looking at a shot with a soft foreground… not that you can tell by looking at this on your phone. In August of 2016 I took a ride up to the Cribworks in search of a good spot for a Milky Way timelapse. Standing in the parking lot that night as I was preparing my gear, alone on the side of the Telos road in total darkness, I caught a glimpse of a figure moving out of the corner of my eye. Slightly startled I turned to see a man approaching who quickly shouted "friendly!" Turns out his name was Rob, he was camping down the road a ways and visiting the area on leave from the Army. He too was looking for a place to set up a camera. Unexpected company in the woods of Maine that night made for a fine evening of capturing the night sky. This is 1 frame of more than 600. // I'm re-editing older images now that I've learned new skills, more to come.
