We have been doing the best grooming that we can with the minimal amount of snow – but there’s a storm on the way, with 12-20″ in the forecast for Thurs-Fri!
Take a video snowmobile ride with Luke from Northern Outdoors past Pleasant Pond to Moxie Mountain Overlook. Lake and mountain views are one of the many reasons The Forks has some of the best snowmobiling in Maine!
We received about 4” of snow on Sunday night, and with cooler night time temps the Tuckers have been out regularly. Warm temps are here for a few days, so get out and enjoy some spring temps with mid-winter trail conditions! Should be real good riding for another couple of weeks. We plan to groom regularly right through March, and will have the lodge and restaurant open until April 7th.
6″ from the last mid-week snow storm has freshened up the trails, resulting in another great weekend of riding ahead! Weekly storms have been the story of the season, and it’s not going to be over anytime soon. We have over 4′ of snowpack and some seriously epic trails; it’s about time to hit up some March Midweek Madness riding! Buy one night, get one night FREE lodging at Northern Outdoors: come ride!
Over 9” of new snow since last weekend. All trail sections have plenty of snow and are in great shape. Both our Tucker Sno-Cats are out smoothing things out as needed. With the deep snowpack, there are a lot of animals using the trails at all times of day and night to get around, particularly deer. Be careful out there.
The Forks area trails are holding up well with increased traffic. Trailmaster Jim and grooming crew report great riding everywhere, except for a few short wooded sections that are just a bit thin on snow. Our groomers have been out consistently and cold temps have hardened up the trail surface, and any thin spots will be taken care of after the big storm that’s coming later this weekend. Enjoy!
